Autoneum celebrated the completion of its new building in Aiken this week. On Wednesday, Aiken County leaders joined officials of the automotive manufacturing company to cut the ribbon on its new Powderhouse Road facility.
The 315,000 square-foot building will allow Autoneum to better supply sound and heat solutions to car manufacturers BMW, Volvo and Mercedes, according to the Economic Development Partnership. The expansion for the company was announced in March 2016, and Autoneum broke ground at the site a few months later in June.
The $38 million investment in building and equipment will add 41 new jobs in addition to the 235 jobs that currently exist at their facility, the EDP said in a statement.
"We congratulate Autoneum on the completion of their new facility," the partnership said.
