July 15,2019

Jones Development broke ground on Monday, July 15th on a ~ 168-acre Master Planned Logistics Park at Whiteland Road and Interstate 65 in Whiteland, Indiana. The business park is being developed to support the region’s growing industrial space occupiers, which range from ecommerce businesses to advanced manufacturing.
Up to 2.4MM square-feet of industrial development is planned on the site with buildings ranging in size from 168,00 square-feet to 1.2M square-feet. With the Monday groundbreaking, the first two modern industrial buildings sized at 169,056 square-feet and 437,591 square-feet are officially underway. The buildings are slated for delivery in the first quarter of 2020.
“Jones is thrilled to kick off this exciting new development after a lengthy process including rezoning, site plan approvals, coordination of nearly 1.5 miles of water extensions and extensive public-private participation. We believe Whiteland Exchange will ultimately capitalize on user demand of all sizes. The addition of Whiteland Exchange is consistent with our strategy to acquire and or develop high-quality industrial real estate in major US markets,” said Nick Jones, Executive Vice President of Development at Jones Development.
Jones Development has engaged Avison Young, as the exclusive leasing agents for Whiteland Exchange. Avison Young Principal, Sean McHale, SIOR and Senior Associate, Peter Seoane, will lead the marketing assignment.
Avison Young and Jones Development worked diligently and collaboratively with local Whiteland officials and town leaders to create a development plan that fits the needs of the community and establishes the cornerstone of the industrial development plans for the town.
“As the Indianapolis industrial market enters into its next stage of growth, this development will fill demand from large distribution and ecommerce-based businesses to mid-sized space users who currently have limited options in the southern submarket of the Indianapolis market,” said Sean McHale, Avison Young Principal.
Significant infrastructure improvements are also being completed at the site by the fourth quarter of 2019.
“We’re excited to welcome Jones Development into our community,” said Norm Gabehart, Town Manager of Whiteland. “The company has a stellar reputation for developing high quality industrial parks that create local and regional employment opportunities and provide new revenues for the communities they select to do business,” he continued. Jones echoed the town’s sentiments and added that, “We are grateful for the town’s support and appreciate their tireless efforts to help bring this project to reality.”
